Creating Care in the Classroom

Participants will consider a transformative approach to education that involves creating care relations within the classroom. The course explores the creation of academically effective classroom environments where all students care for self, others, and ideas. Participants will read books and articles, watch videos, discuss, and reflect on their current practice. Participants will create an action plan to transform their classroom or school into an environment where all students feel cared for. Participants will also be introduced to the positive effects of care relations on GPA and overall student well-being.
