Make Internet technology an integral element of curriculum learning for Language Arts. We will practice accessing, using, and critically evaluating services such as the World Wide Web, file transferring, importing graphics and data. Practice using Web browsers, customizing browsers, and locating resources for specific curriculum needs. Develop ideas for educational projects by incorporating the Internet into curriculum. We will explore the web and the graphics available through various web providers. We will design curriculum projects using computer and the web for paste-up lettering, clip art, creative designs, borders and topic information. Inserting digital photography into curriculum projects will be introduced. The class will create and present Language Arts curriculum related projects, and share ideas and knowledge relating to the products. This course is designed in accordance with the Department of Education’s Benchmark Standards, providing basic technology training which is required by all teachers. This course will provide educators with new ideas to help their own students use Word and the Web, to create quality research projects importing graphics and data.
