Cross Cultural Perspectives of Childhood Adolescence in Film

Focuses on a deeper and broader understanding of the meanings and representations of childhood, through the careful analysis of various portrayals of child development in film. Participants analyze how a child interfaces with their culture or subculture, and how this empowers or limits them. Participants learn how to access the issues presented in the films for practical inclusion in their daily interactions with their students and capitalize on their area of expertise to build a repertoire of lesson plans that will augment and amplify their curricula.
