A guide for elementary educators to help manage the transition to the Common Core mathematics curriculum. Participants will take an in-depth look at the new Common Core documents versus the existing Massachusetts Curriculum Framework to find commonalities and differences, focusing on the rationale, depth, and complexity of topics presented in the Common Core. Best practice strategies for reaching all learners will be examined. All participants will leave the course with a binder of innovative ideas aligned with the Common Core, and ready for use in their own classrooms.
