Social Emotional Learning in the Classroom

This course is designed to help teachers, administrators, school counselors, and additional support professionals understand and design Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and instruction which supports social and emotional development. Through active discussions, exploration of current research, and reflective practice, participants will deepen their understanding of incorporating strategies supporting SEL: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Diverse learning needs, multicultural factors, current research, and best practices in educational settings PK – 12 will be explored.
