 This course provides evidence­ based practices in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) which impact school performance. School based approaches to prevention, screening, intervention, and instruction using a multi­tiered guide. The course will cover 6 areas: 1.) foundations necessary for school based programs and support 2.) screening, performance monitoring, and assessment to identify, manage, and evaluate emotional and behavioral school challenges 3.) interventions targeting specific disorders in various school settings 4.) general interventions to increase school success 5.) early intervention and prevention of emotional and behavioral challenges. 6.) research methods and evidence­based intervention and evaluation. Through class discussions, reflections, readings, and assignments, students will examine and analyze emotional and behavioral disorders in the school setting.
