Formative Assessment in the Math Classroom

An on-line course where the participants develop strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness through use of formative assessment. The course is designed primarily for Middle School Mathematics educators, however concepts are applicable to elementary and high school mathematics and other content areas as well. The course explores research, pedagogy, and instructional strategies for the use of formative assessment through readings, online resources, classroom action trials, and class participation in online discussion.
